H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa announced via a tweet on 30 July 2023 that three projects under Qatar Museums have won the International Beautiful Buildings Green Apple Award 2023.

Doha Fire Station won the Conservation Bronze award in the public buildings category, the Museum of Islamic Art won the Silver award in the public building category & the National Museum of Qatar won the Gold award.

The International Beautiful Buildings Green Apple Awards recognize and appreciate buildings that contribute to the built and visual environment along with incorporating environmentally friendly features such as recycling, re-using, traditional skills, reduced emissions and others.

On the occasion of winning the awards, H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa expressed that it is a recognition of Qatar's commitment to designing sustainable and innovative buildings that promote a healthier planet for generations to come.
