Katara to host International Opera and Classical Music Awards 2019 on March 31

The Qatar News Agency reported that the Cultural Village Foundation Katara will host the renowned International Opera and Classical Music awards ceremony the "Oscar Della Lirica" in its 7th edition on March 31st at the Katara Amphitheatre.

Nearly 20 international renowned artists from all around the world will take part in the ceremony featuring several performances in addition to 6 of the biggest opera singers in the world. The Doha Orchestra band will be the basic band performing at during the ceremony.

The International Opera Award "Opera Star" aims to promote, enhance, revitalize and re-launch the cultural and artistic value of Opera performance. Its diffusion as an art which is primarily a discipline of life and culture, school of sacrifice and commitment, study and constant dedication. The Awards are reserved for the artists involved in opera performances all over the world, who have received the most approval from critics and audiences during the previous opera season.

The Award does not foresee an age limit except for the special prize "Giovani Emergenti" (Rising Young talents) for which an age limit of 30 years is imposed.

The Oscar Della Lyrica will host several international presenters who will announce the nominated artists as well as the winners, in 3 languages: Arabic, English and Italian.

Several wonderful and spectacular content material will be showcased during the event, about the history and career achievements of the awarded artists. Special awards are provided to the Best Youth Male and Female Opera Singers during the event. A special award will also be provided for one of the Qatari Artists, and the audience will also have a chance to view the highlights of his career on the Screen.

A special Finale will be performed by all the awarded artists as a crescendo finale of the event.
