Dana Alfardan, critically acclaimed Qatari musician, composer, songwriter and symphonic artist celebrated international women’s day and the upcoming one-year anniversary of the Qatar National Library with a special concert performance on 13 March 2019 at the National Library.
The Qatar National Library welcomed ambassadors, dignitaries and other VIPs to the packed-out concert featuring several of Dana’s most notable compositions, including work commissioned by the Library, Qatar Museums and Qatar Airways. The set list included world-famous compositions including; the famous The Sounds of the Library, and Dialogues, a song specially created for the international touring exhibition of Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum.
The two songs; One Nation, ft. Aisha and Fares, which is a call for unity and a declaration of the Nation’s pride in the wake of the blockade, and Raise Our Flag, composed in tribute to the valour of the Qatari National football team, were arranged & orchestrated by Maias Alyamani, and performed by Aisha, musicians from the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Qatar Concert Choir, leaving the audience captivated and entranced.
Dana commented on the success of the full arena saying: “I am ecstatic at the turnout of the show and I look forward to creating more shows like these during the year. It was an honour to arrange this musical set with such talented performers at the Qatar National Library in celebration of International Women’s Day and the upcoming anniversary of the Library.”
