The much anticipated Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort is set to open its doors in October 2022.
The resort is approximately a 1 hour and 20 minutes drive away from Doha towards the North side and is located 1.5km towards the south-east of Fuwairit Village.
Fuwairit is the chosen place for this resort as this beach provides the ideal setting and conditions for kitesurfing that include the required consistent winds through 9 months of the year, shallow lagoon water, and soft sand.
Furthermore, the establishment of this resort will allow Qatar to maximize its geographic conditions to join the ‘surf tourism’ market that has already grown globally.
A warm welcome is promised at the resort, starting with a statue of the 'shaka sign' (the pinky and thumb salute) which is meant to represent 'Aloha'. The welcome greeting will be “Aloha Marhaba” with 'Aloha' being a Hawaiian greeting and 'Marhaba' being the Arabic term for 'Welcome'/'Hello'.
The main hall represents contemporary and modern art with various displays of trendy cars, flamingos, scooters, and bicycles all across.
The welcome area also houses a playing space to facilitate games like Connect Four and Jenga. There is also a relaxing area for guests termed 'Hang Loose'.
The resort has a total of 50 rooms, out of which eight will be connecting rooms to accommodate a family of four or five. A total of 40 rooms will be beach-facing, 32 of them will have king-size beds and 8 will be twin rooms.
The rooms are adorned with contemporary murals and are equipped with TVs, cabinets and a washroom.
Something to look forward to is the patio that all the beach-facing rooms offer. The patio has within it a hammock, bean bag, table and chairs and a shower area placed.
The resort has been designed to suit the typical kitesurfer’s lifestyle and some of the facilities will include yoga pavilion convertible to a function hall, a fully equipped gym, beach volleyball, beach football, restaurants, a pool and much more.
Other water activities will also be available such as; paddle-boarding, parasailing, wakeboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, scuba-diving and more.
Considering that the resort is closely located in the sea turtle habitat, the only outdoor lighting during the night will be that radiating from within the rooms. Hatchlings typically crawl toward the sea due to natural light and artificial light may cause the same.
