The first ever Qatar Petroleum Occupational Health Conference will take place from March 20-21.

Held under the patronage of HE Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and chair/managing director of Qatar Petroleum, the event is organized by QP's medical services department in association with the corporate HSE department.

The objective of the conference is to bring together occupational health, safety and environmental professionals to address some of the major challenges facing the oil and gas industry. Organizers hope the event will help improve the social, psychological and physical well-being of workers.

The conference will focus on the following themes:

Effective workplace health management
Functional capacity accessment - new interventions and challenges
Workplace health promotion programs
Aging offshore workers and their impact on health and safety
Burden of cardiovascular disease in the workplace
Focused case management and early return to work
Role of "health fitness note" in managing sickness-related absences
Work-related stress within oil and gas companies
Industrial hygienic challenges
Industrial hygiene regulations
