Qatar Career Fair 2013 is set to offer many career opportunities for nationals through 140 public and private institutions. Exhibitors will be offering extensive training and recruitment opportunities to Qataris.

The Qatar Career Fair 2013 will open tomorrow and run until April 6, under the patronage of the the Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Qatar National Convention Centre. Here are some of the participating companies and institutions:

ExxonMobil Qatar

Building on its current Qatarization headcount of 47 percent, ExxonMobil Qatar is recruiting graduates from local universities and colleges, as well as qualified candidates from universities around the world. Interested candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business-related subjects, communications, computer science, international affairs, and a variety of sciences.

“ExxonMobil believes that developing a pool of diverse and talented local employees supports our business,” said Abdullatif Al Naemi, National Development Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar Inc. “As part of our strategy to help develop Qatar’s energy industry, we aim to maximize recruiting and build workforce capacity, including technical experts and leaders who can add value locally and compete globally.”

Ooredoo

Ooredoo will be recruiting top talent at the sixth Annual Qatar Career Fair. Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, CEO, Ooredoo Qatar, and Waleed Al Sayed, COO, Ooredoo Qatar, will be part of a significant delegation determined to introduce their company to ambitious young people looking for a challenging career.

As one of Qatar’s largest private employers, Ooredoo is dedicated to Qatarisation, and the company’s pioneering Human Resources Department has made recruiting the top Qatari talent a priority. Ooredoo’s theme this year is ‘Take a Quantum Leap with Your Career.’

At the Ooredoo booth, staff will hand outeducational materials and answer questions about Ooredoo’s talent development programmes, opportunities for internships and scholarships, and the potential for sustainable careers in the exciting field of communications.

Msheireb

Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation and Qatar’s leading sustainable developer, will showcase a number of career opportunities in a variety of business units and disciplines at the Qatar Career Fair 2013.

Tareq Al Hammadi, Recruitment Manager at Msheireb Properties, said, “As a result of our on-going rapid development, Msheireb Properties offers opportunities unparalleled in the local market for gifted Qataris, in technical and engineering fields as well as in a variety of disciplines outside the construction sector. We are continually impressed with the quality of candidates graduating from the local universities, as well as the candidates approaching us, as graduates, from international educational institutions.” Msheireb Properties will host a stand at the Qatar Career Fair to present the many opportunities open to national candidates and the company’s on-going internship initiatives.

Mowasalat

Mowasalat Company (Karwa) is set to receive a high number of Qataris at the Qatar Career Fair , including experienced individuals, undergraduates and graduates.

A number of the Company’s managers and professionals will be available at Mowasalat’s stand in QCF to provide answers and clarifications in relation to appropriate employment opportunities directly to visitors.

In addition, young Qataris will have the opportunity to learn about the nature of work in Karwa as part of Mowasalat’s ongoing efforts to encourage and attract locals to join work in the Company and its training and development programmes.

This year, Mowasalatis focusing on offering employment opportunities online in order to attract the largest possible number of Qataris. Once received, applications are reviewed and assessed according to their capabilities and potential for growth. Mowasalat has assigned a special email address for job applications [email protected]. Social Development Center

The Social Development Center (SDC), member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, will be offering training opportunities, expert career counsel and information on the Center’s professional development programs to visitors.

Counselors at the Social Development Center will also offer candidates an overview of its various career-progression and entrepreneurship initiatives that include First Step program, TANMIYA, the Beauty Academy, and Rasameel business funding program. “The SDC pavilion at QCF will showcase our innovative Career Counseling Program that enables students and young professionals to determine their career paths, based on their personal skill-sets and interests. Through a platform such as QCF we aim to reach a wider audience, ensuring that more and more high-caliber professionals receive valuable career advice,” said Manar Al Dossari, Communication Manager, SDC.

QDVC

QDVC will be one of the few construction companies offering job opportunities to local talents at the Qatar Career Fair 2013.

“Qatar will invest QR 700bn in infrastructure works within the next decade”, stressed Sheikha Athba bint Thamer Al Thani, Chief Support Services Officer of QDVC. “It’s really the most exciting time to join the construction industry for young Qataris, men and ladies, who want to participate in the big challenges of their country. Today the construction sector counts few local talents, we need to change this trend and get Qataris involved in the major works shaping the country’s future” she added.

“By joining QDVC, Qataris will work for a Qatari company with Qatari Diar as main shareholder and benefit from the transfer of know-how from VINCI Construction Grands Projets, the French shareholder and leader worldwide in construction. Thanks to the organizers of the Qatar Career Fair, we will have six days to meet with the Qatari youth and open new horizon for them”, she explained.

UDC

United Development Company (UDC), will participate as Gold Exhibitor in the Qatar Career Fair 2013, to educate visitors and participants about the company’s human capital initiatives and the promising career opportunities it can offer to Qataris in order to develop in them the business skills and acumen needed for them to become active participants in Qatar’s ongoing development and economic growth.

“We are crystalizing UDC’s new strategy to support Qatar’s Qatarisation initiatives by bringing the company more in tune with the vision of the nation,” said the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Ebrahim Al Sulaiti. “Our participation at this annual career fair proves we are actively seeking to attract, develop, retain and inspire the best Qatari talent at every level across our company and its subsidiaries,” he added.

Al Meera

Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (Q.S.C.),is taking part in the Qatar Career Fair and this participation is derived from the embedded philosophy of actively seeking ambitious Qataris to join them in their ever-growing organization.

By participating in the Qatar Career Fair, Al Meera aims to contribute to the goals of the National Vision, especially with regards to Human Development.

The success of Al Meera’s participation at the earlier Qatar Career Fair can be measured with the large number of students and graduates who flocked to the company’s stand, and submitted job applications wishing to pursue a career at Al Meera.
