In what is set to be an exciting event, q.media Events, together with Aspire4Sport, will be hosting the world’s most famous basketball entertainment team, the Harlem Globetrotters, on November 15 at the Aspire Women’s Sports Hall. This Qatar Showcase will be supported by QNB as the Platinum Sponsors and the Qatar Basketball Federation will be the governing body for the event.

Known for their amazing ball-handling skills, sky-high slam dunks and superb footwork, coupled with comical and crowd-engaging performances, the Harlem Globetrotters will play a show match against the Washington Generals on the sidelines of Middle East’s leading sport-business conference and exhibition, Aspire4Sport.

The Globetrotters will be arriving in Qatar on November 13 via Qatar Airways and will be staying at the recently-opened high-end Grand Heritage Hotel located right in the heart of Aspire Zone.

“It is an honor for us to return to Doha,” said Harlem Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider. “We are thrilled to be able to bring our iconic brand of entertainment back for the first time in almost 20 years, and we look forward to the opportunity to create lasting Globetrotter memories for a whole new generation of fans there.”

During their stay in Doha, the team will be visiting several of the country’s landmarks such as Katara, the Corniche, Souq Waqif and the Aspire Torch. Their school stops feature Doha College, the American School of Doha and Qatar International School, where the players will demonstrate a few of their dazzling tricks, sign autographs, as well as teach the students some of their skills.

The team will visit Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs, where members of the team will interact with the children in various tricks and photographs. Some of the Shafallah children will also get an opportunity to win free tickets to the show match.

Some of the players included in the Harlem Globetrotters team visiting Qatar include “Bones”, who can hold a basketball with just two fingers; “Dizzy”, whose ambition is to inspire younger generations to become basketball superstars; and the “Shot”, renowned for making the Globetrotters’ exclusive 4-point shot look easy.
