The Cultural Village Foundation - Katara is set to organise a marine contest – Al-Meyani – on May 15-16 for children aged 10-16 years.
The competition will be based on the Sanyar Festival – the pearl diving and traditional fishing contest – where teams, each made up of eight children, will board dhows in a fishing cruise under the supervision of sailor and
navigator.
The contest is scheduled to be launched at Katara beach on May 15 at 4:30pm. The competition is mainly meant for educational purposes and all participants will be
honoured.
