International Artists of Doha (IAD) is to launch the fifth Spring exhibition featuring works of 21 Doha-based artists from 11 countries.
Hosted by Qatar Foundation Community Services, the expo opens on Saturday at 6.30pm at AaQool Atrium, QF Recreation Centre in Education City.
Artists include Ahmad Allawy, Annette Wendling-Willeke, Ben Barbour, Charlene Kasdorf, Dorte Meichsner, Dominika Bozic, Elham Razani, Hannelore Seckel, Jacinthe Lecomte, Jameela Al Shraim, Leila B Chaieb Elhaj, Mahesh Kumar, Nigel Muter, Sabah Arbilli, Salim Abdulla, Shahida Ahmed, Shihar Hamza, Urvashi Gaekwad Chauhan, Verity Watkins, Yousef Ellis and Willemina Mansell.
The artists from Croatia, Tunisia, Iraq, Germany, Canada, India, Iran, the Netherlands, the UK, the US and Qatar will display recent works in a wide range of styles from realism to abstract.
IAD was formed in 2011 by Dutch artists Winnifred Bastian and Marjolijn Stolk as a non-profit organisation for international artists living and working in Doha. It provides members with a platform to share experiences, learn from one another and interact with other artists from around the globe.
It collaborates with local art initiatives and showcases members’ art to the public through exhibitions and publications.
The expo is open to the public daily until March 26 from 8am to 8pm. (The Peninsula)
