The official dates for the inaugural Doha Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) have been adjusted from what was announced last year, a spokesperson said yesterday.
The Doha TFF will now be launched on October 29, 2009, ending on November 1. Earlier, the international film festival was to begin from November 10-14.
The first edition will be hosted at the Museum of Islamic Art.
“We are deep into programming the first festival,” the official told Gulf Times from New York, via e-mail.
The Doha TFF will showcase the best of the local Qatari community as well as the broader Arab culture through extensive collaboration between the Tribeca Film Festival and the Qatar Museums Authority (QMA).
The Doha TFF was formed through a cultural partnership by HE Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad al-Thani and the Tribeca Film Festival founders, Jane Rosenthal, Craig Hatkoff, and Robert De Niro in November 2008.
