Mandi is a wholesome rice meal that originates from Yemen and is made with various types of meat such as chicken, mutton, beef or even seafood. Typically, the rice is cooked in a broth infused with dry spices, which is served with grilled meat, along with salsa, also known as 'Daqus' and a green salad.

There are variations to the side servings as some would also serve it with yoghurt or buttermilk, which is referred to as 'Laban'. Authentically, Mandi is eaten by hand, and Mandi lovers will vouch that the meal is not just food; it is an experience!
