A press conference is being held tonight at 8 pm by the Ministry of Public Health to talk about the latest developments in the Coronavirus outbreak in Qatar. Officials from the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Communications and Communications, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management and Qatar Airways were present during the conference.

According to H.E. Lolwa Al-Khater, the Official Spokesman of the Supreme Crisis Management Committee, the updates are as follows:

All incoming trips to Doha will be stopped starting next Wednesday for a period of two weeks as a precautionary measure to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Transit passengers can still fly via HIA. The restriction will start on Wednesday 18th March and last two weeks. The restriction may be extended depending on the situation. This is with the exception of air cargo and transit flights, in addition to receiving any of the Qatari citizens coming from any destination in the world without specifying that with a period of time, provided that Quarantine is applied to them for 14 days. Citizens and residents are urged to avoid travel during the coming period.

All public transportation in Doha from 10 pm today will be stopped. This includes the Doha Metro and Karwa. This will be until further notice.

In a tweet, Mowasalat stated: "As precautionary measures to combat the spread of #Coronavirus infection, following the developments, #Karwa #publicbuses including #Metrolink buses will cease to operate from 10 pm, 15/03/20, until further notice.

We reached out to Mowasalat through their Twitter account and they have clarified the Karwa taxis will still operate normally until further notice.
