Hamad Medical Corporation issued a statement in its official Twitter account, saying:
"Given the changes to health services taking place while we continue to tackle COVID-19, consideration had been given to introducing charging for all non-emergency attendances at Hamad General Hospital Emergency Department. However, after considerations, these charges will NOT now be introduced, although we continue to urge patients to use ED when they have an emergency. Any changes to health services will be posted on the MOPH website (http://moph.gov.qa) for the foreseeable future."
This is in response to its earlier decision to implement a fee for Minor Cases presenting to the Emergency Department at Hamad General Hospital.
