The Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowment (Awqaf), in a Tweet, has announced that taking vaccination will not nullify fasting. It is permissible for people who are fasting.
A Fatwa on the same was issued by Sheikh Dr. Thaqil bin Sayer Al Shammari, Deputy Head of the Court of Cassation and Head of the Fatwa Committee at the Ministry. The announcement said that the committee found that the COVID-19 vaccine is taken intramuscularly and does not reach inside the body through a regular path, which is not nutritious. It also mentioned that if the person who is fasting needs to take it during the day in Ramadan, then there is no blame on him for that. It added that the injections that are taken under the skin or intramuscularly or intravenously are not nutritious and hence do not affect the validity of the fast.
