Workers

If a worker in Qatar is in isolation, quarantine or receiving treatment for coronavirus (COVID-19), he will continue to receive his salary and allowances. This applies to all those workers that are employed in the sectors that have followed governmental instructions to stop their services amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Qatar, according to a tweet by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA).

The employer can, however, terminate the contract of the worker in the crisis, taking into account Qatar's Labour Law regulations and the terms of the contract.

The employer, in agreement with the worker, may grant an annual or unpaid vacation to cover the period in which he is unable to work or because the company has reduced its services, while continuing to guarantee food and housing.

In the case that the employee abroad is unable to return, the worker has the right to refuse to amend the contract and, in case, the contract is ended , it must be done in compliance with the Labour Laws.

Residents within Qatar should use the Metrash 2 App.
