Mowasalat Qatar announced on 24 September 2023 that Tap-in & Tap-out would be required as of 1 October 2023 to use the metrolink services; however, the service will continue free of charge.

The Karwa Smartcard or the QR code on the Karwa Journey Planner App can be used to tap-in & tap-out.

To use the QR Code on the Karwa Journey Planner App, the following steps will be required:

• Download Karwa Journey Planner App and sign-in
• Download the e-ticket from the app before your journey
• Click on Metrolink e-ticket and you will be able to view a gold QR code
• You can then scan the e-ticket on the ticket reader inside the bus when you enter and leave

Note: The e-ticket only needs to be downloaded once.
