The National Cyber Security Agency of Qatar has announced in a tweet its recommendation to Apple users to upgrade their devices to the latest operating system for security reasons.

As per the memo, after discovering several vulnerabilities in its products, Apple has released updates on its operating system to avoid these vulnerabilities and the potential security threats they could cause. Apple has also recommended the update of their products to the latest iOS 15.6.1 which is available on the following products:

  • macOS Big Sur
  • macOS Catalina
  • iPad or later
  • iPhone 6s or later
  • iPad Pro (all models)
  • iPad Air 2 or later
  • iPad 5th generation or later
  • iPad mini 4
  • iPod touch (7th generation)

Other Apple updates also include the following:

  • macOS Monterey 12.53 for macOS Monterey
  • watchOS 8.7.1 for Apple Watch Series 3 or later

The National Cyber Security Agency has noted the risk that these vulnerabilities represent includes an open gateway for any attacker or stalker to gain access to data that may be exploited using spyware or malware. Updating these systems helps close these gaps, and it should be noted that the devices must update to the iOS 15.6.1 version.
