In an Facebook post on 12 June 2023, Qatar Academy Al Wakra announced that one of their students Yousef Khalid Alsaad Al Kuwari became the youngest Qatari to summit Mount Kilimanjaro.
As per The Peninsula, Yousef Al Kuwari, aged 14, was part of a group of students from Qatar Foundation Pre-University Education schools who had just returned from a mountaineering trip to Mount Kilimanjaro. As per the publication, the students went through an intensive physical training program for four months to prepare for scaling the mountain.
Qatar Academy Al Wakra had also posted regular updates on their social media channels about their progress.
