Thousands flocked today to 1 La Croisette in Porto Arabia at The Pearl-Qatar to witness the opening competitions of this year’s Fly Board World Cup, taking place between November 7 and 9, 2013. This marks the second championship here after last year’s first successful international Fly Board contest in Doha’s Corniche. The championship, organized by the Qatar Union for Water Sports under the leadership of Sheikh Hassan bin Jabr Al Thani and sponsored by Hilton Hotel Doha., is taking place along the sunny shores of Porto Arabia, where a large audience enjoyed watching Fly Board enthusiasts from Qatar and around the world take part in the contest, all competing for the title of Fly Board Champion next Saturday. The opening ceremonies were attended by senior members of the Qatar Union for Water Sports and UDC, as well as water sports lovers across Qatar. As well as the Fly Board World Cup, The Pearl-Qatar regularly holds highly anticipated water sports events, making it all the more a tourist hotspot, and bringing sports fans from all parts of the community together. - ILQ News -
