Strong performance continues in the second week of the Aspire Banks League

The second week of the Aspire Banks League was marked by a highly competitive atmosphere, with a number of exciting matches played out on the indoor pitch at Aspire Dome.

Qatar National Bank (QNB) stole the show in the first day with an astonishing 22-1 win against Commercial Bank. The International Bank of Qatar (IBQ) also put on a strong performance, winning its match against Masraf Al Rayyan 3-1. Excitement continued in the match between Al Khaliji Bank and Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB), which resulted in a 3-2 victory for QIIB. Barwa Bank also came out triumphant with a 3-2 win against Al Ahli Bank, whereas Qatar Development Bank (QDB) lost 3-0 to Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB).

The second day began with a thrilling 7-4 win for Qatar Central Bank in its match against Doha Bank, while HSBC continued its strong performance from the first week with a 7-4 victory against Standard Chartered.

These results put Qatar National Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank, HSBC and Barwa Bank in the league’s lead with 6 points each, while Qatar Development Bank, Commercial Bank and Al Ahli Bank sit at the bottom of the rankings without any points.

Running between October 2015 and February 2016, the league is being played out between 14 participating banks with a total of 91 matches due to be played. Games are held every Saturday and Sunday.
