The Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced on 12 August 2023 that H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani the Honorary President of the Qatar Football Association, has been elected as a deputy to the president of the Union of Arab Football Associations for the Asian continent.

The appointment as Vice President is a tenure until 2025.
The election and the announcement were made at the 27th Arab Football Federation general assembly, which took place in Taif, Saudi Arabia.
Also in attendance at the General Assembly were Mohammed Al Suwaidi, the Vice President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Mansoor Al Ansari, the Secretary General of QFA.
