Team Qatar, as reported by Qatar Tribune, continues to deliver the goods at the ongoing Asian Football Cup happening in Abu Dhabi as they dominate Iraq earlier today with a gritty 1-0 score to set up a quarter-final meeting with South Korea.
The winning team's defender Bassam al Rawi's direct free kick just after the hour was a rare moment of quality in a frantic encounter in Abu Dhabi and was worthy of winning the game for the 2022 World Cup hosts.
Qatar will return to action, again in the UAE capital, on Friday (January 25) against two-time champions South Korea, who are chasing a first title since 1960.
Yet to concede a goal in the 2019 tournament, Qatar have not previously been beyond the tournament’s last eight.
