The Asian Football Confederation announced on 18 July 2022 the four countries that are bidding to host the AFC Asian Cup 2023™, which include Qatar.

The other three countries bidding along with Qatar are Australia, Indonesia & Korea Republic.
AFC had extended an invitation for interested countries to submit their expression of interest by 15 July 2022
AFC's invitation to all MAs to express their interest in hosting the flagship men's national team tournament on 31 May 2022 and now received responses on the extended deadline of 15 July 2022.
Bidding regulations were distributed on 17 June 2022, and bidding documents will have to be submitted by the countries on 31 August 2022.
After evaluation the announcement of host country will be made on 17 October 2022 by the AFC Executive Committee.
