The official Press Conference for the 2024 Longines Global Champions Tour and the Global Champions Tour season was held on 26 February at Al Shaqab. Media and guests were invited by Dr. Fahad Al Hajri, who hosted the Press Conference, Event Director Mr. Mohammed Jaber Al Khayarin, Sports Director of the Longines Global Champions Tour, Mr. Marco Danese, and Event President Mr. Jan Tops from Presenting and Title Sponsor Longines. Also on the panel was Edwina Tops-Alexander, Australia's leading showjumper and one of the highest-ranking female riders in the world, who will be competing in the Championship this year.

The equestrian world braces itself for an exhilarating leap forward as Qatar proudly announces its existing collaboration with the esteemed Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT). The announcement comes right after the highly successful end of the 11th Edition of the CHI AL SHAQAB Presented by Longines; a momentous stride in Qatar's commitment to fostering a culture of excellence in sports and entertainment, aligning seamlessly with its rich heritage of horsemanship.

Scheduled to unfold amidst the stunning vistas of the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, the event promises a convergence of elite riders, majestic horses, and entertained spectators from across the globe who are set to enthrall visitors with the best of Showjumping feats and displays.

Mr. Mohammed Jaber Al Khayarin, Event Director addressed the media and members present stating,

"We are honored to bring the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour to Qatar for another year, marking a historic moment for our nation's equestrian community. Having joined the tour in 2008, the LGCT of Doha is one of the longest standing events and a favourite for domestic and international competitors alike.

He further added.

“This year's LGCT AND Global Champions League season tour will take place across some of the most iconic nations and venues in the world, including Paris, London, New York; and to have Qatar as the stage for the electrifying opening leg, is nothing short of extraordinary for us. The LGCT Tour of Qatar signifies a milestone, elevating our nation's status as a premier destination for world-class equestrian competitions. This collaboration underscores our unwavering dedication to promoting excellence in sport while providing an unparalleled experience for both participants and spectators alike."

Renowned for its impeccable organization and unrivaled standards, the Longines Global Champions Tour epitomizes the pinnacle of equestrianism, attracting top-tier riders from across the globe. With Qatar as its host for the first leg of the season, the tour is poised to reach unprecedented heights, offering a platform for riders to showcase their talent on the world stage.

This year’s competition is supported by the Presenting Partner, Longines, and Main Sponsor, ExxonMobil Qatar. The Event Sports Director, Mr. Jan Tops also added,
