Global automotive brands reveal their newest models at Qatar Motor Show 2016

As Qatar Motor Show 2016 prepares to open its doors for visitors this week, organisers ELAN and Fira Barcelona have released more details about what fans can expect at this year’s show, taking place from 28 January to 1 February.

As the largest and most exciting annual automotive event in the region, this year’s show will offer automotive enthusiasts and visitors exclusive regional and local reveals from global brands. Exhibitors include Audi, BMW, Bosch, Cadillac, Castrol, Chrysler, Continental, Dodge, Ducati, Ferrari, Ford, GMC, Harley Davidson (NBK), Infinity, Jaguar, Jeep, KTM, Land Rover, Lexus, Maserati, Maxus, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Piaggio, Porsche, RAM, Renault, Rolls Royce, Sand X, Titanium, Toyota, Triumph, VW and Ziebart.

There will also be on-site show competitions to win exclusive gifts and experiences, like hotel treats at the Marriot Marquis and Qatar Motor Show goodies, F1 simulator rides on the state of the art Evotek Technology, and appearances from internationally acclaimed guests.

Qatar Motor Show 2016 takes place at the Doha Exhibition and Conference Center and is free of charge for all visitors to attend. Online pre-registration is recommended to gain fast-track entry to the show. Visitors can register via www.qatarmotorshow.gov.qa.

Special guests for Qatar Motor Show 2016 include the inspirational global automotive designer Horacio Pagani, Automotive Entrepreneur and Founder and CEO of Pagani Automobili. Pagani will share his industry insights and experiences as the founder and creative force behind the company responsible for the award winning Zonda and Huayra. Additional celebrities, such as Qatari professional racers, will be announced for special meet and greet appearances for visitors.

New to the show this year is an interactive and experiential outdoor fanzone for visitors of all ages to enjoy. Outside the DECC there will be a range of activities including 4x4 off-road driving demonstrations from Nissan, motorbike stunts and displays from Red Bull, and test drive experiences throughout the show

days. In addition, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior’s Traffic Department will offer child-friendly activities on their showroom stand.

To celebrate the show, Qatar Motor Show partners Red Bull will host the opening competition of the Red Bull Car Park Drifting Championship 2016 taking place at the Corniche on 29 January. Visitors who are not able to attend the highly anticipated event on the Corniche can enjoy from the comfort of the Doha Exhibition and Conference Centre, where the event will be livestreamed in the outdoor fanzone.

In addition, during the 5-day event the city will experience daily parades of unique and exciting cars that will travel around the West Bay.

More than 40 exhibitors will offer a variety of showroom and hands-on experiences for visitors from Qatar and the wider region. Leading international carmakers will exhibit the top sports, luxury and mid-range automotive models and branded lifestyle goods, showcasing the latest auto and performance trends.

Qatar Motor Show is hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority as part of a strategy to position Qatar as a premium business events destination. Now in its sixth year, the show has become one of the most anticipated regional consumer and trade shows on Qatar’s annual events calendar.
