The Ministry of Public Health has issued a warning against an organic brand of almonds for possible salmonella contamination.

Ministry in its circular urged people to not consume Tesco Organic Almonds due to a possibility of contamination with salmonella bacteria. This particular almond from international supermarket giant comes packaged in 200 grams transparent plastic bags and is produced by V Besana company in Italy and carries a serial number of L8004010.

The Ministry of Public Health is following an international alert about the product and action is taken to reduce any potential risk to consumers.

The Ministry urged if anyone has bought the product not to consume the same and return it to the outlet from which the purchase was made. If you have already eaten the recalled product and is not feeling well then contact the nearest health center, the Ministry said in its post on social media.

Tesco has issued an urgent recall internationally on organic almonds due to salmonella fears.

A statement from Tesco said: “Please do not consume this product but return the affected date and batch code of the product to store, where a full refund will be given.”
