The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy announced via a tweet on 23 September 2022 that Wadi Al Sail area of Al Bidda Park is closed with immediate effect until the start of the World Cup 2022 tournament in November 2022.

In preparation for the @fifaworldcup Fan Festival, the Wadi Al Sail area of Al Bidda Park is now closed until the start of the tournament.
The closure is done to prepare for the fan festival which is to be taking place at Al Bidda Park during the 29 days of the tournament (20 November – 18 December 2022).
The fan festival will be a destination giving fans a memorable experience with the best in music, entertainment, local culture, food, games and lifestyle trends in a true festival environment.
