Vodafone Qatar has said it will achieve 100 percent coverage in the country before the end of the year. The company''s chief executive officer Grahame Maher said the Gulf state's new telco had so far acquired 320,000 customers since its launch in the summer. On mobile coverage, he added: "We are almost there. We are boosting indoor as well as outdoor coverage in line with our commitment to deliver a world-scale service to customers in Qatar." Maher told Gulf Times that the company’s goal was to achieve a customer base of 700,000 by 2012 and 1.61mn by 2018. Vodafone coverage had significantly improved with more than 310 radio sites spread all over Qatar, he told the paper. To improve coverage and add capacity in places, where mobile call traffic is busy, Vodafone will install extra radio sites while it has also launched a project to boost indoor coverage by focusing on key installations.
