Qatar has been able to overcome the storm of the blockade imposed by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Egypt. The illegal blockade has turned into a blessing for Qatar as it has given the country the opportunity to break away from influence of its neighbouring countries. Since the diplomatic crisis began, Qatar has been changing its airline routes and ports for shipping to importing food from new sources.

However, blockading countries couldn't accept Qatar's move to self-reliance and as a latest move, the United Arab Emirates has filed a complaint against Qatar at the World Trade Organization saying Doha has imposed a ban on Emirati products, UAE state news agency WAM said on Tuesday, reported Reuters.

The move follows the ban from the Qatari Ministry of Economy and Commerce on the sale of consumer goods produced in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, as well as the decision of the country's Ministry of Public Health to prohibited pharmacies from selling meds and related products originaed in the blockading countries.

According to Arabian Business, WAM also stated that Qatar has removed the names of UAE companies from the list of approved vendors for infrastructure projects and has maintained an undeclared ban on products coming from the UAE.

It is worth noting that Qatar filed a wide-ranging legal complaint in July 2017 at the WTO to challenge the trade boycott by the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. And the case is still ongoing.
