Global Fusion, musical concert will today bring together ten artistes from across the world with varied musical styles, in Doha. Qatari musician, Ateeq Saeed Mubarak on Middle Eastern Drums will showcase his talents as well as perform with musical luminaries from across the world, at the third Global Fusion Concert at the Al Wajba Ballroom, Intercontinental Hotel. The concert will feature Trilok Gurtu as the lead along with musical sensations such as Andy Suzuki, Carolo Cantini, Johann Berby, Roland Cabezas, Rosana Romero, Ahmet Tekbilek, Sanago Mohamed Bachir and Flavio Rodrigues. Mubarak, the Qatari drummer has participated in local and international cultural and musical activities, in collaboration with Qatar TV and the Council for Culture and Arts. Also has participated in the celebrations of the Arab- American- British cultural center and as well as national celebrations in Qatar. He performed in Saudi Arabia in March this year apart his global performances in France, Japan, America, UK, and all Middle East countries with the best Arab musicians. “The concert itself is very unique as it brings together artistes from across the world from different musical genres and provides them with a single platform to perform. It is also perfect networking occasion for us,” said Rohit Walia, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, Bank Sarasin-Alpen Group and Alpen Capital Group, organisers of Global Fusion Concert. In the beginning the concept only revolved around Fusion music. Over the past three it has tried to fuse contemporary dance in the line up adding a visual element to Global Fusion. “We have also tried to use the platform to highlight talents of local musicians in the region and provide them with an opportunity to perform with internationally renowned artists,” said Walia. “In addition to putting together a different and entertaining line up every year, we also felicitate an artiste who has been integral to our Fusion concerts,” he said The event has honoured many international artistes for their contributions to Global Fusion including artistes such as George Brooks, Dr L Subramanian, Charbel Rouhana and Vikku Vinayakram. Fillipo Schiavini, Technical Manager and Naren Gurtu the Troupe Manager will be travelling to Doha along with the artistes. Global Fusion is a flagship event and is organised across locations since 2005.
