Qatar is one of the most attractive and culturally-divers countries in the region. In spite of the Saudi-led blockade, Qatar proved to be a hot spot for professionals from around the globe. And the latest report released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) demonstrates the truth as Qatar’s population reached a new all-time high of more than 2.75mn people at the end of November.
The population of Qatar has crossed 2.75 million at the end of November, an increase of 0.5 percent over the the October figure, according to the data released by the MDPS. The population also increased by 2.8 percent annually.
As per the October figures, there were 2,743,932 people in the country, while as of November 30, there were 2,757,437.
Female population has crossed the 700,000-mark for the first time ( .7% rise)The latest data also reveal that Qatar’s female population has crossed the 700,000-mark for the first time. The female population was 703,862 at the end of November, an increase of .7% from the October figure of 698,945.
On the other hand, the male population in November was 2,053,575, which marked a rise of .4% from October, when the corresponding figure was 2,044,987.
These data by MDPS represents the number of persons all ages (Qataris and Non-Qataris) within the boundaries of the State of Qatar as on 30 November , 2018.
The overall population had reached a high of 2,731,910 in May before dropping to 2,450,285 in July and then increasing again over the next few months. July was also the month when the country recorded its lowest population in the current year. Usually the population in Qatar drops at the end of December every year as many people travel out of the country on vacation.
