Sidra project to involve educational institutions and malls Qatar-based NGO Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) has announced a series of initiatives during the Holy Month of Ramadan aimed at involving the community and bringing smiles to the faces of less fortunate members of the society. One of these initiatives, the Sidra Tree Project, within the framework of the ROTA Ramadan Programme, is a combination of environmental awareness, culture, tradition and community care. It underlines the social values and the spirit of sharing during the Holy Month and involves students from eight schools of Doha: Al Iman Secondary Independent School, Ammna Secondary Independent School, Al Jazeera Academy, Doha International Secondary School for Boys, Nasser Al Ateyyah Secondary Independent School, Park House School, Pakistan Education Centre and Shafallah School. The students prepared eight 3D Sidra trees out of environmentally friendly materials and recyclable objects, which will be "planted" in City Center, Landmark, Villaggio and Hamad Hospital. Cards towards education, food and health will be placed on each tree, and ROTA volunteers will encourage the public to read the cards and donate accordingly. Reem Al Daghma, Volunteers' Programme Manager at ROTA, said: "The Holy Month of Ramadan reflects sharing, caring and spreading goodwill. Our special Ramadan Programme reflects similar sentiments. The Sidra Tree project will run throughout the Holy Month and will give to all of us the opportunity to make a child's dream come true." Mohamed Jaidah, Director of Business Development and Marketing, Jaidah Group said: "We are very pleased to be able to participate in such a worthy cause that will benefit people in need during the Holy Month of Ramadan. As members of the community, we have a responsibility to help those less fortunate than ourselves and contribute to the common good. Giving back to our community generates a great feeling of connectedness and human compassion and brings us much closer to the underprivileged families. Therefore, we are so proud to be part of the ROTA initiatives". The funds raised during this campaign will improve access to education for children and youth in Afganistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria, Yemen and Qatar; provide healthcare services in Afganistan, Iraq and Palestine and provide food drives in Iraq and Palestine. The campaign will also include providing support to families in Qatar during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Nevertheless, all these would not be possible without the valuable contribution of Jaidah Group, ROTA's associate sponsor and exclusive sponsor for the Sidra Tree Campaign. Reach Out To Asia's Sidra tree is a beacon of renewed hope. Its branches hold the wishes of children, youth and families throughout Qatar and Asia towards a better tomorrow. The Pen
