Inspectors from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce seized 4,900 counterfeited car tyres in the Industrial Area.

As part of its ongoing intensive inspection campaign, the ministry closed down the showroom and warehouses of the erring entity for one month for storing and selling expired products.

The one-month administrative closure of a showroom, located in Salwa Street, in addition to a number of warehouses owned by a well-known commercial agent in the Industrial area came over the storage and sale of expired tires.

The closures comes as a part of inspection campaigns carried out by the ministry in an effort to monitor markets and commercial activity in the State of Qatar.

The law prohibits the sale, display and promotion of counterfeit and fraudulent products and the decision of closure is published on the ministry’s website as well as two daily newspapers at the offending store’s own expense in line with article (3) of law no (8) on consumer protection. (Source)
