Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) continued during the holy month of Ramadan its efforts in providing charitable and humanitarian assistance to priority care groups from families registered in the social welfare programs of its humanitarian service fund, thanks to the donations received from the Qatari community during the month of Ramadan and other months.

Through the 'Help for Those Deeply in Debt' project, which is implemented by the QRCS in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the State during the month of Ramadan, assistance was provided to 17 individuals to relief them from distress by paying their accumulated debts and late obligations, and help them to return to their normal lives and ensure their future and the future of their families.

In a statement, the QRCS stated that one of its project that aims to encourage the people to sponsor a number of needy families provided financial guarantees to 196 families, in addition to 200 other families that benefited from the project. Another project provides immediate assistance to exceptional cases in the form of food vouchers and financial aid to purchase their urgent needs.

During the month of Ramadan, 4,500 needy families benefited from the seasonal assistance projects related to the holy month of Ramadan, such as the projects of Zakat Al Fitr, the Eid cloths, among others. 379 workers also benefited from the "One Hand" project, which is a humanitarian development project to help expatriate workers and better improve their lives in a way that promotes social inclusion.

Since the beginning of the year, the QRCS has provided financial assistance to 44 families within its projects to benefit the needy.

In order to help vulnerable families whose sources of income have been affected by the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, the QRCS cooperates with Al Khebra Driving Academy in implementing the initiative to distribute 100 bread bundles daily and for free in a safe manner that takes into account all preventive measures related to security and safety of vulnerable groups from families and workers in various neighbourhoods of Doha.
