Hit-and-run

The Department of Traffic will be fining motorists QR1,000 for not reporting accidents within 48 hours, particularly hit-and-run cases or mishaps in which a vehicle is damaged by unknown motorists or individuals while it is parked. Traffic authorities have decided to impose such a fine following their plan to ink deals with insurance companies to provide them details of traffic accidents online mooted late last month. This way, motorists whose cars are damaged in mishaps will not need to visit the traffic department to collect documents to get their vehicle repaired.
