DOHA: Adel Khamis, the new Assistant Director with the national squad, on Monday said the Qatar national team will strive for success in the coming weeks and months as reported by qatarchronicle. In an interview with the QFA website, Khamis said he was delighted with confidence 'bestowed' upon him by the Qatar Football Association (QFA). When asked about Qatar's early exit at last month's Gulf Cup, Khamis said: "We are starting afresh. We have a good bunch of players and there's plenty of motivation to do well. I am sure, with everyone's big efforts, we would taste success soon" as reported by qatarchronicle. He added: "The task becomes that much easier when you know everyone's putting wholehearted efforts on and off the pitch." Khamis said he was urged by new coach Fahad Al Thani to take up the post of Assistant Director. Khamis said Al Thani said he 'was needed by the players for team building'. "We are all working towards making a better national side that can win matches," Khamis said when asked about the spirit in the national team camp. "We have to sweat hard for success, there's no doubt about that," he pointed out. "We need to play well at home and abroad and be consistent about our performances," Khamis said. "I believe we have an interesting bunch of players who can deliver as we build a strong foundation that would last a long time," he said. "My task is to create the right kind of atmosphere around the team and the team players. We have important assignments coming up like the FIFA World Cup qualifying games and the Asian Cup qualifying games," he said. "Good performance by the players can make things easier for everyone associated with this team," he said. Read more: http://www.qatarliving.com/node/10259806#ixzz2K7K3AoR6
