A source at Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has said that the ceiling on personal loans will not be raised as a result of the pay hike for Qataris, a local Arabic daily reported yesterday. QCB had issued new regulations in April this year to limit personal loans for Qataris to a maximum of QR2mn with a six-year repayment period. The source also revealed that Qataris can enjoy the benefit of the salary rise, by taking a second loan processed directly from the bank concerned.
