Global investment migration consultancy Henley & Partners issued the Global Passport Ranking for Quarter 3 of 2023, which indicated that the Qatari passport has progressed to the 52nd position with access to 103 visa-free destinations.
In the previously issued ranking, the Qatari passport ranked at 55th position.
The current issue also indicated that the Singaporean passport replaced the Japanese passport by gaining the number one position as Singaporean passport holders can visit 192 global destinations out of 227 around the world visa-free.
Additionally, Qatar has ranked at the 42nd position in the Henley Openness Index, which indicates the number of nationalities the country allows to cross its borders without a prior visa. Qatar currently allows 94 countries entry without prior visa.
The Global Passport Ranking is curated based on exclusive data sourced from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) that takes into consideration 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations.
