H.E. Lolwa bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrived in the Gaza Strip on 26 November 2023, as part of a Qatari diplomatic delegation to supervise the process of introducing and delivering an additional Qatari aid package to the Palestinian people.

H.E. The Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reviewed the flow of Qatari humanitarian aid from the Rafah crossing to the Gaza Strip in light of the humanitarian truce currently in effect between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.

The visit of H.E. The Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Gaza Strip is the first by a senior Arab official since the start of the Israeli aggression on the strip on October 7, 2023.

On November 25, five planes belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces transported additional aid to Gaza. The aid package, which amounted to 144 tons, included 1,000 tents, bringing the total number of tents provided by the State of Qatar to 2,000.

The relief materials also included basic food supplies such as flour and rice, which were provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, Qatar Red Crescent, and Qatar Charity. Furthermore, six ambulances provided by the Ministry of Public Health and the Fund were also part of the aid package. This latest delivery brings the total number of aircraft used to transport aid to Gaza to 21, with a total weight of 723 tons.

This aid comes within the framework of the State of Qatar’s support for the brotherly Palestinian people and its full support for them during the difficult humanitarian conditions they are currently exposed to.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency, H.E. The Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the State of Qatar’s full readiness to send more aid to the Gaza Strip, stressing that the current pace of aid from various countries does not meet the needs in light of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Strip.

H.E. also indicated that aid had arrived in the northern regions of the Gaza Strip for the first time since the start of the Israeli aggression, expressing her hope that the pace of aid entry would increase to provide relief to all areas of the Gaza Strip.
