This is part of Qatar's mediation and coordination efforts to reunite families that the conflict in Ukraine has separated.
On Tuesday, 5 December 2023, 6 children were hosted at the Qatari Embassy in Moscow with their parents and legal guardians, who were then accompanied to their destinations. These children were previously living with their relatives.
The ministry appreciated the cooperation and goodwill of the authorities of Ukraine and Russia, as well as Maria Lvova-Belova, the Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, and Dmytro Lubinets, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Ukrainian Parliament, which was provided throughout the mediation and reunification process.
The ministry's statement also reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to support the efforts of Ukraine and Russia to reunite separated families and protect the rights and well-being of affected children.
