Online competitions offer exclusive prizes for visitors

Doha, 28 January 2016 – Qatar Motor Show 2016 has opened its doors, revved its engines and is in the fast lane for fans and families to experience the largest and most exciting annual automotive event in the region. Visitors can pre-register for the free event via www.qatarmotorshow.gov.qaforfast-track entry.

Visitors are now able to get up close with a multitude of colourful, sleek, exciting and exclusive models in Qatar from luxurious to classic, supercar and off-road, as well as experience interactive fun at the Fanzone of the Doha Exhibition and Conference Center (DECC), in the heart of the West Bay.

The show continues until Monday 1 February. Open for the visitors from 13.00 – 22.00 Friday (29 January) & Saturday (30 January), 16.00 – 22.00 Sunday (31January) and 13.00-20.00 on Monday (1 February).

Motorbike stunts and displays from Red Bull athlete, Shadi Al Dhaheri, whose two-wheeled talents have wowed crowds all over the world, are on offer twice-daily from 18.30-19.30 and 20.30-21.30 on Thursday, Sunday and Monday, and at 15.30 on Friday. In addition the Red Bull Car Park Drift Championship 2016 kicks off at the Corniche from 8.30pm. Visitors who are not able to attend the highly anticipated event on the Corniche can watch it from the comfort of the Qatar Motor Show, where the event will be livestreamed in the outdoor Fanzone.

Motor enthusiasts can revel in new and in some cases never-before-seen-in Qatar models. This includes the Audi RS Q3, SQ5, S8 and the all new R8 and A4; the limited edition BMW 7 Series Solitaire and the BMW M2, Cadillac CT6 and XT5, Chrysler 200 Sedan; the Ferrari 488 Spider; the new 2016 Ranger, 2016 Explorer, and the 2016 Edge from Ford; the new shape GMC Sierra and Terrain 2016; reveal for the Infiniti QX5; all new Jeep Renegade; Lexus RC F GT3; the introduction of new light-passenger vehicle brand, Maxus; the new Mercedes Benz A-Class 250 Sport, G500 Square, C450 AMG and C300 Coupe; Mini Clubman and the brand new Mini Hatch Convertible; the all new Mitsubishi Montero Sport; Nissan GTR Nismo, 370Z Nismo & Patrol Nismo plus the updated Patrol “Desert Edition”; GCC premiers for the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, 911 Targa 4S, 911 Turbo S and the all new Macan GTS; the Renault Clio RS; the Rolls Royce Dawn; regional reveals for the Toyota Prius and FT1; and the VW Golf GTI Clubsport, new Passat and new shape Tiguan.

Visitors canexplore the world of motion at the Qatar Motor Show with special guest exhibitors such as Carbondrone, demonstrating the power and versatility of carbon fibre with the Devilray. Designed by a group of professionals linked to the MotoGP and Formula 1 scenes, the Devilray is the lightest and hottest carbon fibre drone on the market. Qatar’s first-ever concept car has also been revealed, designed in partnership by Texas A&M University Qatar and Ali Bin Ali Group.

Qatar Motor Show is hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority as part of the strategy to position Qatar as a premium business events destination. Now in its sixth year, the show has become one of the most anticipated regional consumer and trade shows on Qatar’s annual events calendar.
