A campaign to amend family law in the United Kingdom has been launched following a joint initiative from Doha International Institute for Family Studies and Social Justice Center in London. A draft of the suggested amendments, which was titled ‘Every Family is Important’, called for a change in the phrasing of legal terms used in current British family laws. The changes will involve a study of the laws that observers believe is the most detailed in 40 years, and will focus on the relationship between legal phrases and the breaking up of families. The revision will also involve a look at the legal aspects of marriage, divorce, residence, custody rights, and the rights of the extended family. The purpose of the revision is to ensure the British law supports a family that involves both parents as much as possible in the lives of their children. http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=304719&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
