According to two scientists who are working on a project studying the global cloud coverage, Qatar is one of the sunniest countries of the world.
They have been tracking cloud cover internationally by scrutinizing 15 years worth of satellite photos and have compiled, what can be called, a cloud atlas.
The research that was published last month, aims at showing the importance of clouds in deciphering the ecosystem, species distribution and even habitats. It can even assist in predicting the future of environment.
The research is being carried out with the support of NASA and Yale University and according to them, for most of the years, Africa, much of the Gulf and parts of Australia can be named among the sunniest places in the world.
Whereas South America and Africa near the equator and Indonesia are the cloudy places.
