Google Developers Group (GDG) Doha, held the Google I/O Extended' event, on July 31, 2018 (Tuesday), at the Digital Incubation Center headqurters in Doha.
Google I/O is an annual event taking place in Mountain View, California, encouraging the growing number of developers worldwide to connect. It consists of talks, learning sessions and announcements related to Google’s latest developer products - an agenda awaited by many tech enthusiasts.
A satellite event that takes place in many cities around the world, Google I/O Extended features the live streaming or videos of the I/O event in California. It’s a great opportunity for developers to connect, learn new things and get inspired.
The event included a series of talks, demos and VR activities. Attendees learned about Google Assistant, Data Studio, TensorFlow, Material Design, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Machine Learning, and AIYProjects among other topics.
It also featured an inspiring recap of this year’s Google I/O with insights from guest speakers and local tech communities, such as ArabWIC and IEEE.
“The success of this event was a true manifestation which exhibited the spirit of the tech communities in Doha to learn, share and collaborate to make a significant impact on the community at large. Our vision is to build and breed the next generation of creative coders, startups, and entrepreneurs in Qatar,” Founder & Manager Google Developer Group—GDG Doha, CTO—TupeloLife Sachin Kumar said.

GDG Doha is a local group of developers, designers, and tech-enthusiasts who are interested in Google Products and APIs. They host a variety of activities for the local tech community—from networking meetups, workshops and codelabs, to large gatherings with demos and tech talks, to hackathons.
