The UN report reiterated that Khashoggi's death was an extrajudicial execution carried out by the Saudi state and that there was credible evidence that requires investigation with high-level Saudi officials in this heinous crime that shocked the world's conscience.
In line with this, the Qatari daily newspaper Al-Sharq highlighted in its Thursday editorial the report by UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial killings released on Wednesday regarding the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul in 2018, according to QNA.
The report called for justice, which requires the opening of an impartial, thorough and independent investigation and accountability of those responsible for the murder of the Saudi journalist, Al-Sharq underlined.
First Abu Dhabi Bank, FAB, has notified the Qatar Financial Center Regulatory Authority, QFCRA, that it will permanently close its branch in Qatar Financial Center and branch licence.
Qatar participated on Tuesday in an Arab coordination meeting in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), amid preparations to hold a new session of dialogue between Arab states and China, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).
HE Qatar's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi chaired the delegation of the State of Qatar to the meetings.
The meetings discussed means of deepening and expanding scopes of cooperation between the two sides and developing them to broader horizons.
The participants also reviewed the various achievements made in the framework of the Forum since the 8th session of the ministerial meeting. They also coordinated on issues and files of mutual concern.
The top U.N. court on June 14 rejected a request by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for interim measures to be imposed on Qatar in a racial discrimination dispute. The case focuses on the boycott of Qatar by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt who accused Doha of supporting terrorists as well as being too close to Iran.
Abu Dhabi had asked the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to prevent Qatar "aggravating" the dispute, after Doha won a case last year over alleged discrimination against its citizens.
ICJ Chief judge Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf said the court "rejects the request for provisional measures submitted by the United Arab Emirates" by a margin of 15 to one. Qatar's representative to the ICJ said it welcomed the rejection of the "groundless" UAE request.
