“Sight & Insight”, a photo exhibition staged by a group of amateur and professional photographers in Qatar, was inaugurated at Hyatt Plaza yesterday.
Nadia Mudhaikhi, Director, Visual Arts Centre, Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, opened the three-day exhibition.
Fifty frames by two Qatari and 16 Indian photographers are on display at the event. Hessa M Al Obaid and Heyya Al Mohannadi are the two women Qatari photographers who have put their works on show. The pictures give a glimpse of life in Qatar and the country’s natural beauty. “Our effort is to delineate the serene moods and beauty of Qatar as well as a serious approach to portraying the life of the nationals and residents in Qatar”, one of the organisers said.
The event is also an attempt to present the diverse culture the country has embraced over a period of time, other than portraying the splendid landscapes of this nation, hitherto unknown to many among the public, they said.
