The Organising Committee for the Qatar National Day celebrations has announced that Darb Al Saai events will not be held this year, taking into account the current circumstances related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Committee said the events will be held next year near the Qatar National Day celebrations, but in a new way, according to a Tweet by the Organising Committee for Qatar National Day:

أعلنت اللجنة المنظمة لاحتفالات اليوم الوطني للدولة عدم إقامة فعاليات #درب_الساعي لهذا العام 2020، وذلك مراعاة للظروف الراهنة، والخاصة بتداعيات جائحة كورونا( كوفيد- 19)، على أن يتم إقامة الفعاليات خلال العام القادم بحلة جديدة .

The Committee has attributed cancelling Darb Al Saai events this year to ensure the health and safety of the people in Qatar. The Committee also confirmed that, this year, historical programmes, competitions and seminars to commemorate the importance of the Qatar National Day will be broadcast on the Doha 360 website for everyone to enjoy.
