Court of First Instance is currently hearing the case of a mother who lost her child due to medical negligence by a hospital, Al Sharq daily reported. The parents of the newborn has demanded QR10 million as compensation for the physical and psychological damage.

After investigation by authorities it was found that the responsibility of the death is due to hospital’s negligence and health authorities has taken stringent action against the hospital.

The punitive actions include closure of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, issued warnings against doctors, supervisors and nurses.

They also ruled that they can’t provide treatment to newborns and also stopped a doctor from practicing medicine in the country for a period of 3 months. (Source)
