More police stations will be opened across the country to effectively monitor law and order as the country’s population has soared to 1.9 million. The Head of Public Security Department, Brigadier Saad bin Jassem Al Khulaifi, told a forum on labour market strategy here on Sunday that the population figures released periodically by the Qatar Statistics Authority did not include students, embassy staff and nationals living outside the country. He said some of the new police stations will provide services like fingerprinting and passport and traffic-related services. Such stations will be located in Al Rayyan and Industrial Area, for example. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=June2009&file=Local_News2009061621312.xml
