The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) announced on Twitter, on 16 August 2022, that they have responded to reports of fish deaths discovered in Khor Al Adaid area.

MoECC, represented by the Monitoring and Nature Reserves Department, immediately and urgently intervened to follow up on the phenomenon of fish deaths. A group of specialists has taken samples of fish to the laboratory to be examined study and investigate the causes behind the death of fish.
The ministry notes that fish deaths in the area can occur during this period due to high sea water temperatures.
The MoECC has since then conducted a campaign to clean Al Adaid beach of dead fish.
